Steel Prices on the Exchange
At the close of trading, the price of April 2026 rebar futures on the Shanghai Futures Exchange rose 0.3% (9 Yuan) to 3,147 Yuan/ton.
On the Dalian Futures Exchange, the price of April 2026 iron ore futures rose 0.2% (1.5 Yuan) to 822.5 Yuan/ton.
On the Singapore Futures Exchange, the price of April 2026 iron ore futures rose $1.3 to $108.8/ton.
Iron ore prices today reached their highest level in two months, as demand for finished steel products in China increased due to the recovery of the construction sector.
The most actively traded May iron ore contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) closed higher in the day, up 1.81% at 816.5 yuan/tonne, or $118.56/tonne.
The benchmark April contract on the Singapore Exchange rose 1.26% to $108.85/tonne.
The main driving force came from the resumption of strong production of rebar and wire rod by electric arc furnace steel mills in China. According to Shanghai Metals Market, output of these two commodities is forecast to continue increasing this week.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, steel products showed mixed performance: rebar rose 0.41%, hot-rolled coil increased 0.58%, while stainless steel fell 0.21% and wire rod declined 1.13%.
Domestic Market
According to data from SteelOnline, domestic steel prices today saw an increase at some businesses.
In the North, Viet Duc Steel: CB240 steel coils at 13,500 VND/kg; D10 CB300 ribbed steel bars at 12,850 VND/kg; Hoa Phat Steel: CB240 steel coils at 13,800 VND/kg; D10 CB300 ribbed steel bars at 13,600 VND/kg; Viet Sing Steel: CB240 steel coils at 13,640 VND/kg; D10 CB300 ribbed steel bars at 13,430 VND/kg; VAS Steel: CB240 steel coils at 13,530 VND/kg; D10 CB300 ribbed steel bars at 13,130 VND/kg.
In the Central region, Viet Duc Steel: CB240 steel coils at 13,950 VND/kg; In the South, Hoa Phat Steel: CB240 steel coils are priced at 13,550 VND/kg; CB300 steel coils are priced at 13,800 VND/kg; CB300 steel coils are priced at 13,600 VND/kg; VAS Steel: CB240 steel coils are priced at 13,640 VND/kg; CB300 steel coils are priced at 13,130 VND/kg.
In the South, Hoa Phat Steel: CB240 steel coils are priced at 13,800 VND/kg; CB300 steel coils are priced at 13,600 VND/kg; VAS Steel: CB240 steel coils are priced at 13,530 VND/kg; CB300 steel coils are priced at 12,730 VND/kg; TungHo Steel: CB240 steel coils are priced at 13,030 VND/kg.
